Helpful Tips and Suggestions for a Great Visit

With our large, beautiful farm to explore with your family, here is helpful information to make sure you have a great visit.

Reservations Required on Peak Weekends

Reservations are required for the 3-day Thanksgiving weekend and the first weekend in December. They are also very helpful for your planning and information. You can modify reservations up to two hours in advance. They are posted in early November.

South Pole Tree Field in Snow with Tree Ruler

Measure Your Room

Measure your ceiling height. Bring a ruler or measure how tall you are with your hand raised over your head. Often guests search for "tall" trees and then have to cut the tree shorter when they get home.

Winter boots

Wear Sturdy Shoes

Warm, sturdy shoes are essential to a good visit to the farm. Waterproof shoes and boots are important in the snow and rain. Bring extra layers for warmth, plus hats and gloves. The farm hilltop can be breezy at times.

Food and Snacks

We offer farm-fresh snacks in the Barnyard Village, including our famous farm-made trail mix cookies and warm apple cider (sorry, not hot chocolate). We also have local cheese, crackers, and desserts (as supplies last).

Dog on leash at tree season

Well-Behaved Dogs Allowed

Only during tree season, well-behaved dogs on leashes are allowed. Keep them on the leash at all times and come prepared to clean up after your dog. No dogs in the barns or buildings.

Bring a Tarp

If you are cutting down your tree, definitely try to bring a tarp to slide your tree on the ground to bring it to the nearest tree wrapping station. We have a limited supply for sale. We have handsaws and twine. No chainsaws or axes permitted.

Tying a tree to a car roof

Tree Tying Info

Watch our video to see the "Jones Way" to tie a tree to your car or mini-van. We have twine, but brings your own is welcome. Some put down a tarp on their roof first.

Wagon with child and pumpkin

Wagons and Strollers Recommended

Strollers and wagons are great to transport children around our large farm!
