Strawberries: Today's Update

Today's Info

• Reservations sold out for Saturday morning! Walk-ins are allowed to enter 12:30 PM to 4:30 PM, but please check the website before you come to see if we have any update to the hours because we will be only open while the Berry supply lasts 
• Prepicked Berries: We will have some in the morning. We will do our best, but we anticipate we will not be able to keep up with demand through the day. We will post on this website when we sell out.
• Sunday hours: we would like to pick on Sunday morning, but we will need to evaluate tomorrow afternoon. We will post our hours and reservations at 4:30 on Saturday afternoon.

• Next week and into next weekend ~ we will likely pick every day, at least in the the mornings, but please check back.

Season Overview

The season will last approximately 3 weeks until around the 3rd week in June. Due to weather extremes in recent years, there is a bit less strawberry acreage than last year; our farmers are committed to working with Mother Nature to find the best varieties that can withstand our hot summers and cold winters.

Reservations

This year, we plan to post reservations only one to two days in advance as we evaluate the crop conditions ~ strawberries are a precious crop where even slight changes in the weather makes a big difference!

On most days, we will post reservations only for the morning hours, but might also have additional hours where all walk-ins are welcome, as long as supplies last. If you plan on picking in the afternoon, check the website before you come.

Jones Berry Containers

• The Jones Berry Basket is the best option for individuals and groups this year. Up to 2 people can share this 2 quart basket. Receive discounts when picking multiple baskets. When you pick four or more baskets, you receive the best price.
• For strawberry season, the farm expects to not be handing out new Jones Berry Boxes some of the days during this strawberry season. But if you have one from a previous year, you can use it, though there will be days where baskets will be preferable because it allows a group more flexibility to move around the field. If you wish to bring your own Jones Berry Box, read the reservation information how you can make a reservation for 1 basket and then when you arrive at the farm with your box, you can pay the difference.
• We will be offering for a Picking Pint to purchase as a picking container. This container is helpful if you already have 2 people sharing a basket, and you need an additional container. The pint is best for children between 3 and 10 years old who want to pick a small amount of berries in their own container.

Pre-Picked Berries

When abundant, our farmers pick each day fresh, delicious berries available by the quart for $11. We will post at the top of this page each day if they are available and the location where these pre-picked berries can be purchased.

Additional Information

• Children 2 and under do not need to purchase a berry picking container.
• Friday, Saturdays and Sundays, our strawberry fields are reached by walking; bring a stroller or wagon to take kids to the field but please note strollers not allowed into the fields of plants where the berries are picked.
• For strawberry season, we plan to have our Berry Ferry available to take guests out to the field Mondays through Thursdays; weather depending. 
• Only Jones boxes and baskets that you have paid to fill can be in the field - sorry, no additional Jones containers, green quarts or personal containers can be brought to the fields. Our field staff has helper containers that can be borrowed in the field if needed.
• Bring water, hats, sunscreen, sturdy shoes. Our Market Stand has water, lemonade and simple farm treats.

Rescheduling and Cancelling

You can reschedule up to 2 hours in advance for that same day; the order management link is in your confirmation email. If we have not posted future reservations for you to move your reservation to a new day, please email us at farmer@jonesfamilyfarms.com with your order ID and ask when you would like to come. We cannot guarantee our future hours, but we will do our best to accommodate you. Refunds provided if there is a thunderstorm; we pick in rain so please reschedule your reservation if needed.
