Blueberry Basket in Field

Here's the Latest Info on our Blueberry Season

When are you open to pick blueberries?

Our blueberry fields are typically open Wednesday-Sundays, closed Monday and Tuesdays. Our hours are highly dependent on weather and field conditions and so will vary throughout the season. Visit our website for today's farm hours and the most up-to-date information.

How much do the blueberries cost this year?

Please visit our reservation page for current pricing. Blueberries require year-round care, and our pricing reflects the labor and resources needed to grow and harvest the crop.

Are reservations required?

Reservations are not required for most of our blueberry season. While we often are able to accommodate walk-in groups without a reservation, it is a helpful tool for us to communicate with you about picking conditions and weather updates, so do still recommend.

Do you sell pre-picked berries?

When enough fruit is available, our farmers will harvest pints of blueberries to sell. Supply is limited and will vary throughout the season. It's always best to check our daily update page before coming to confirm availability.

When is the best time to come? How long will the blueberry season last?

The timing and duration of the season will depend on the weather. Typically, we will harvest into the first week of August. We recommend checking our website or social media channels for season updates.

I’m not interested in blueberry picking. Can I just come to walk around?

To experience the beauty of the farm, consider joining us for our Summerfest event on July 18. Please see our Events page for more details.

During our dedicated harvest-your-own hours, all guests must purchase containers for harvesting to enter the farm.

Can I bring my own containers?

Only designated Jones berry picking containers that have been paid to fill are allowed in the field. Our pricing is based on the amount of fruit that fits in these containers.

Are your blueberries organic?

We use sustainable, environmentally responsible farming practices through Integrated Pest Management, though we are not a certified organic farm. If you have a specific question or concern, please email us at farmer@jonesfamilyfarms.com.

Do you spray your blueberries?

Occasionally, if necessary to save a crop. Any such intervention washes off or breaks down before pickers are allowed into the field. There is no safety concern with eating our produce, although we always recommend washing berries at home before enjoying them, since they grow in a natural environment.

How do you keep animals out of your blueberry fields?

Keeping wildlife from eating our berries is one of the greatest challenges as we enter the harvest season. Most of our berry fields are netted as the fruit starts to turn blue.

When will the Berry Ferry be running?

For blueberry season, we plan to have our Berry Ferry available to take guests out to the field every day.

When picking at Pumpkinseed Hill, everyone will be asked to take the ride to and from the field.

When we are open at our Valley Farm, there will be opportunities to walk to the field, if you wish.

Can I bring my stroller or wagon?

When the Berry Ferry is running, we cannot accommodate strollers and wagons on the ride.

If coming on a day the Valley is open, a stroller or wagon can be used for walking to the fields, however please keep in mind that they are not permitted to enter our narrow blueberry field lanes.

Can I bring my picnic?

We offer a selection of farm snacks at our Market Stand for your convenience; such as locally-made ice cream and strawberry popsicles. Outside food and picnicking are not permitted at the farm.

What’s the best way to care for my blueberries?

After picking, it is best to put your berries in a cool place as soon as possible; the picked berries will not hold up well in direct sun or extreme heat (i.e. left in the car). Please see our Berry Care page for more information on how to store and care for your fruit.

I’d like to go blueberry picking with my group. Do I need to make a reservation ahead?

For organized groups larger than 10 people, we appreciate an email to farmer@jonesfamilyfarms.com so we can help coordinate your visit. Please keep in mind our blueberry lanes are narrow, so your group should come prepared to break up into smaller teams for picking.

Are you still harvesting strawberries?

Our strawberry season has ended. Check back in May 2027 for updates on next Summer's crop!
